How does a link within a page work?

The link points to an element’s identifier. Here, #notes leads to the heading with id="notes". Put # in href, but not in id.

<a href="#notes">Notes</a>
<h2 id="notes">Notes</h2>
Where should I start, and what is checked?

If tags are new to you, start with the introductory lesson. The 12-task diagnostic helps select a starting point in Python and data, while three HTML/CSS questions offer an initial web-practice recommendation. This is a small sample of knowledge, not a professional exam.

Checks inspect the required structure and relationships between elements. They do not assess the meaning of your text or complete HTML mastery. The current editor supports a limited HTML subset without scripts or external requests.

Works on desktop and phone. The editor and saving require JavaScript. Progress stays in this browser; backups are available in settings.
